Ice harvesting was one of Maine's most important industries.
These views were from Long Pond in South Portland. The pond
is near Route 295 and is now partly filled in. Everett Johnson
lived nearby and made one surviving 16mm film. The narration
is by Philip C. Whitney, president of the New England Tool Collectors
Association. |
