Recently there was a postcard show in Portland.  After the success of our last postcard feature, I went with the intention of gathering some material for a new postcard piece, and there was plenty to choose from.  This time, though I wanted to do something different, and the weather was nice. So I packed up my colleague's digital camera and headed out to try and stand as near as possible to the place where the original artist stood when he or she the image.  Sometimes that involved borrowing a high window from a business, which gave me a chance to see the inside of some interesting old buildings.  Other times it merely involved blocking traffic for a couple of minutes.  You can see the results here. 

We asked people to tell us where on Congress Street this scene was.  We received well over a hundred entries.
